Karthyayani Kshetram, located in the serene village of Kaveed in Kerala, lies just 6 kilometres from Guruvayoor, near the famous Punnathur Kotta. This sacred temple is dedicated to Goddess Karthyayani, worshipped here as a swayambhu (self-manifested) deity. Despite its modest size, the temple holds profound spiritual significance, drawing numerous devotees who come to seek the divine blessings of the goddess. The sanctum sanctorum, where the deity resides, faces eastward, offering worshippers a spiritually uplifting darshan. Though the temple's exact origins are lost in time, legends attribute its consecration to the sage-warrior Parasurama. Followers of Durga, the fierce and compassionate mother goddess, especially revere it. Local folklore speaks
more of the temple’s mystical aura, and some stories suggest that even Lord Vishnu worshipped the idol at the neighbouring Guruvayoor Temple. While detailed records of its architecture are limited, the temple is believed to embody the traditional Kerala style, likely featuring intricate carvings and ornamental motifs that enhance its divine atmosphere.
