Thozhuvanur Bhagavathy Temple
is an ancient and revered shrine in Kavumpuram, within Kerala’s
Malappuram district. The presiding deity here is Vana Durga, enshrined in a
swayambhu sankalpam (self-manifested form), making the temple a powerful
spiritual centre. It is counted among the 108 Durga Temples of Kerala, further
underscoring its religious importance. Nestled within an age-old sacred grove,
the temple is deeply connected to nature, with the divine presence of the
goddess emanating from its tranquil forest setting. The sanctum faces south,
and devotees believe that the darshan of Thozhuvanur Bhagavathy bestows
strength and protection.
