Kalarcode Sree Mahadeva Temple
is a prominent and ancient temple located in Alappuzha, situated directly
opposite S.D. College and easily accessible from National Highway 66. Dedicated
to Lord Siva, the temple offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere for devotees.
This is one of the major Siva temples in the region. According to legend, the
temple is over 500 years old, predating even the famous Ambalappuzha Sree
Krishna Swamy Temple. Devotees believe that Lord Siva of Kalarcode, known as
Kalarcode Mahadevan, is as powerful and revered as the deity of Ettumanoor
Mahadeva Temple.
