The temple is situated in Pallarimangalam in the Ernakulam district. The Pallarimangalam Siva Temple in
Kothamangalam is historically significant, considered one of the 108 Siva
temples of Kerala and potentially the last temple installed by sage Parasurama.
Thrikkariyoor, the temple's location, is believed to be the capital of the
Adi Cheras kings and has centuries-old historical records. The temple is also
associated with the legend of Parasurama, who is said to have established the
land between Gokarna and Kanyakumari, including the 108 Siva temples.
