This famous and very old Vishnu temple is on the banks of Bharathapuzha in Thirunavaya which is famous for the Mamankam festival of the Malappuram district. The temple is managed by the Zamorin Raja of Kozhikode. The sub-deities are Aadi Ganesa and Mahalakshmi. The temple which is facing east offers a spectacular view with marvellous engravings. The temple is famous for performing rituals for departed souls. The important sevas are Naivilakku, Thamara mala, Palpayasam, Malar Para, Thali charthal etc. After the renovation and re-installation in 1992, the Prathishta Dhinam (Consecration Day) is observed on Makayiram star in the Malayalam month of Meenam. The other special days of
more the temple are Niraputhari, Ekadasi, Kuchela Dinam, Navarathri pooja etc. The main ten days festival is celebrated with a flag-hoisting on Meda Sankrama day. The festival is very spectacular and devotees from far and wide are attracted to participate in this holy celebration.
