Situated in Vadakkumbhagam,
Eloor North, a prominent industrial area, Sree Balasubramaniya Swami Temple is
dedicated to Lord Murugan as the presiding deity. Initially, only Murugan and
Ganapathy were consecrated at the temple. The idol of Lord Murugan, brought
from Palani around 50 years ago, was re-consecrated 35 years later using the
same idol. Both the original consecration and the re-consecration ceremonies
were conducted by Sree Prakashananda Swami. During the re-consecration,
additional deities—Bhagavathy, Ayyappa, Nagas, and Gurudeva—were enshrined as
subordinate deities. The temple's annual festival is celebrated from the Kartika
star to Pooyam in the month of Meenam (March-April).
