This temple is at Thavanakkadu
Road, Nedumprakkad in Cherthala of Alapuzha district. It is believed to be 350
years old. The area at one time was
covered with fields and a small forest. Once when indications of some
effulgence were seen, the local people held astrological consultations. It was
revealed that the effulgence was that of Lord Dharmashastha. The Mooryanad
family gave the land for the construction of the temple. The temple and the
pond were made and the Lord consecrated on star Uthram in the month of Edavam.
Now the temple is under the Travancore Devaswom Board.
