Sree Varaha Swamy Temple, located in Varappuzha Town, is an ancient temple believed to be over 1,000 years old. It is approximately 15 km from Ernakulam in Kerala, with easy access from the NH-17 highway. Initially, the temple enshrined Narasimha Moorthy as its presiding deity. However, the Narasimha idol was later relocated to Mulki, and in its place, a majestic seven-hooded murti of Varaha Swamy was installed, brought from Goa. Following this installation, the area became known as Varapuzha, derived from the temple’s association with Varaha. Over time, the original structure of the temple fell into disrepair. Due to insufficient funds for reconstruction, the temple's administration was
more eventually transferred to the Alappuzha Anantha Narayanapuram Thuravoor Tirumala Devaswom (AATTD), which now oversees its maintenance and rituals.
