Kuttumukku Sree Mahadeva Temple, dedicated to Lord Kuttumukku Sree Mahadevan, is situated approximately 5 km northeast of Thrissur. The presiding deity is worshipped in the form of "Kiratha Moorthi," a fierce and powerful incarnation of Lord Siva. According to Hindu mythology, it was in this form that Shiva tested Arjuna’s devotion by appearing as a hunter and engaging him in a duel. Pleased by Arjuna’s unwavering dedication, Shiva granted him the celestial weapon "Pasupathastra."
