Sree Siddhi Vinayaka Temple

History

Located near Chittur Vadakkathara Bus Stop, Sree Siddhi Vinayaka Temple is one of the most renowned Vinayaka (Ganesha) temples in the region. The temple houses separate sanctums (Sannidhis) for Vinayagar (Ganesha), Naagar (Serpent deities), Mahavishnu, and the Navagrahas (nine planetary deities). Daily poojas are conducted in the morning and evening, with the Sankatahara Chaturthi pooja being particularly significant every month. The annual Vinayaka Chaturthi festival is celebrated on a grand scale, featuring traditional processions with elephants and drum performances, usually around September. Another major event, Maha Kumbabhishekam, occurs once every 12 years, attracting devotees from far and wide. The temple complex includes a spacious marriage hall, which is more frequently used for wedding ceremonies. It features separate reception and dining halls, along with a well-equipped kitchen. A unique highlight of the temple is its large, adjoining pond, where visitors can take a ritual bath and swim. Steeped in tradition, Sree Siddhi Vinayaka Temple stands as one of the oldest and most revered temples in the area, preserving its spiritual and cultural significance over the years.
