Paliyam Sree Krishna Temple is
situated in Chendamangalam, near North Paravur in Kerala's Ernakulam district.
The temple is dedicated to Sri Krishna Bhagavan, with the idol standing nearly
4 feet tall. Positioned atop a small hill, the deity faces east for darshan.
Historically, the temple was constructed by the Villarvattam king to provide a
place of worship for the women of his palace. Originally named Govindapuram,
the temple later came under the administration of the Paliyathachan family
after the extinction of the Villarvattam dynasty. Legends suggest that a tunnel
once connected the temple to the Paliam Palace.
