Sree Kottapuram Siva Temple,
one of Kerala's 108 revered Siva temples, is located in Poothole,
Kottappuram, Thrissur. According to legend, the temple was established by Sage
Parashurama. The main deity, Lord Siva, is enshrined as a Swayambhu
Shivalingam facing east, while Goddess Parvathi is worshipped at the rear of
the sanctum. Though originally a small temple, it holds great spiritual
significance. The temple is currently managed by the Cochin Devaswom Board.
