Pavumbayil Sree Krishna Swami
Temple, located in Aroor, Alappuzha district, belongs to the Pavumbayil family
and has a rich history spanning over 800 years. The temple is managed by
Pavumbayil Devaswam, an administrative body composed of members from the
Pavumbayil family. Uniquely, the family continues to follow the traditional
"Marumakkathayam" system in temple administration. One of the most
distinctive features of this temple is the presence of Lord Shiva and
Brahmarakshas (Vaishnavam) under the same roof, which is considered highly
unusual. At the entrance, visitors can witness the beautifully carved
"Santhanagopalam," crafted from a single piece of wood, adding to the
temple's historical and artistic significance.
