This ancient temple is on the banks of the Vembanadu lake in Panavally panchayath of Cherthala taluka of Alapuzha district. It is believed to be 500 years old. At that time the area was occupied by Brahmins. They built the temple here for Devi and the other deities. But soon the Brahmins found it impossible to look after the temple. All the landed property was lost. Fifty years ago, the Itty Kumarassery family donated 10 cents of land and the local people built a temple there. They formed the Chelattubhagam Sree Annapoorneswari Devaswom under the Akhila Keala Dheevara Sabha Branch 21. The consecration was performed in
more 1984. It was renovated according to Kerala architectural style in 2015 and Re-consecration was performed. The temple is under the Annapoorneswari Devaswom.
