Thiruvullakkavu Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is one of Kerala’s earliest and ancient temples. It is situated 10 km south of Thrissur town on the Thrissur-Irinjalakuda route. Thiruvullakkavu is a throbbing beehive of spiritual activities today. In Thiruvullakkavu, Navarathri is the most important festival. On Vijayadasami day there is a great flow of devotees and thousands of children have their initiation into writing (Ezhuthiniruthal). The dynamic committee which includes the representatives of Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi and Peruvanam Grama Sabha is conducting the administration. Devaswom grants a scholarship for financially weak and academically efficient students of nearby panchayaths up to professional courses from SSLC. At Thiruvullakkavu, full-fledged accommodation facilities are available for devotees and pilgrims from outside.
