This temple is at Prayikkara on the Mavelikkara Thiruvalla route about 2km north of Mavelikkara town. It is believed to be 1000 years old. Temples of Dhanwanthari are rare in India as a whole which makes this temple especially important. The idol is made with Krishnashila. Lord Dhanwanthari, the physician of the Gods and the lord of the Ayurveda system of medicine is sculptured with four hands holding the conch, disc, leech and the pot of nectar.
