Located in Kilimanoor,
Thiruvananthapuram district, the Mahadeveswaram Temple was built in
Kollavarsham 149 by the mother of Vallabhan Kotha, a king of Venad. It is one
of the rare Siva temples where the deity faces south. Devotees believe that
Mahadeveswaram Mahadeva (Lord Siva) is the divine protector of this land.
