This temple is at Iringapuram, Thrissur. It is believed to be 800 years old. At that time there were more than 24 Namboothiri houses in this area. This is evidenced by the word Mana associated with the land and wells of this place. Later they all shifted from here. It is said that when one of the Manas caught fire, the idols of Devi, Sastha and Ganapathy, which had been consecrated in the inner courtyard of the Mana, were thrown into a pond nearby to save them. One of them was recovered later by the people of one of the Manas. This was consecrated as Devi
more in a small temple built at the place where the temple stands today. As this Namboothiri family found it impossible to look after the affairs of the temple, it was handed over to a prominent Nair family of the area called Pulikizhe Theril family. No records are available before the time of Naayana Menon and Theyyan Menon of this family. They looked after the temple for 130 years between themselves. After that the rituals could not be continued and it was reduced to lighting a lamp there every day. Only the Thalapoli was conducted on the Samkrama day of the month of KUmbham with the support of the people of Vadakku Muri and Thekku Muri. In February 1978, a committee was formed under Eralan Gopala Menon to renovate the temple and the temple pond. In 1999 a society was registered for looking after the temple. In the year 2000, Devi, the main deity, was re-consecrated and sancta were built for Ganapathy and Sastha.
