Located in Ashokapuram, Manakkapati, Aluva, the Ashokapuram Sree Mahadeva Temple is believed to be around 500 years old. Initially owned by the Edappally Mana, the temple was later handed over to a committee of local Nairs when the Mana found it challenging to manage. Eventually, the temple came under the Nair Service Society's (NSS) care. The temple's main deity is Lord Shiva, accompanied by Goddess Parvathy. Subordinate deities include Lord Ganapathy, Lord Krishna, Goddess Devi, and Lord Ayyappa. The temple hosts an annual festival in the Malayalam month of Dhanu, which concludes on the day of the Thiruvathira star. Maha Shivaratri is also celebrated with special
more rituals, drawing devotees from far and wide.
