Situated near the town of
Kizhakkambalam in Ernakulam District, the Ayyankuzhi Dharmashastha Temple is a
revered spiritual site. The temple is unique in consecrating Lord Sastha
alongside his consort, Prabha Devi, a rare feature found in only a few temples.
According to tradition, the idol originally resided in Palakkad in ancient
times. It was brought to this location by a group of Brahmins who temporarily
kept it in a small room at Swarnathu Mana. About 50 years ago, the present
temple was constructed, and the idol was formally consecrated. The temple also
houses a shrine for Lord Siva, worshipped here as Sathyakan, adding to its
spiritual significance.
