Palur Mahadeva Temple

History

This temple is at Palur at Thathamangalam in Palakkad district. It used to be known as Panayur. It is believed to be one of the 108 Shiva temples consecrated by Lord Parasurama. The temple is constructed in Kerala architectural style. It stands on the banks of the Shokanashini River and is believed to remove all sorrows as the river's name also signifies.
