This temple is at Moozhipadam, on the Vazhikadavu Thamarassery state highway. It is believed to be 2000 years old. The temple, including the sanctum, had been dilapidated for a long time. A committee of devotees was formed in 1986 and plans to rebuild the temple were initiated. At an astrological consultation, it was revealed that the idol was in the temple well. This was recovered and the broken pieces were put together and installed in a temporary shed. A lamp would be lighted and worship conducted at the shed while the reconstruction of the sanctum was going on. Re-consecration was conducted when the sanctum was completed
more and regular worship was started. Gradually the other parts of the temple were also rebuilt. An area of 47 cents of land was given to the temple by Smt.Vilasini, wife of Kottiyatt Shankaran Nair. But a large part of the land had to be given up for road construction. Even now parts of the temple land are in danger as the sand gets eroded when sand mining is carried out in the Chaliyar river that flows quite near to the temple. The temple is open for worship from 6 to 8.30 in the morning. During the Mandalam period, it will be open in the evening also. Ganapathy and Bhagavathy are the subordinate deities.
