This temple is at Thiruvazhiyodu in Vellinezhi of Palakkad district, around 32 km west of Palakkad and 8 km east of Cheruplassery. It is believed to be more than 700 years old. The powerful Goddess is consecrated facing the east. It is a D-grade temple under the Malabar Devaswom Board. However, it is not directly managed by the Board. A Trustee Board consisting of the eldest male members of 11 families of Mannadiyars who ran the temple from ancient times, manages the temple's administration.
