This temple is at Pavaratty panchayath in
Thrissur district. The locality is also known as Maruthayoor. Goddess Durga is
the main deity consecrated here. It is believed to be one of the 108 famous
Durga temples in Kerala. The sanctum is square and the Goddess faces
the east. There is s self-originated
stone deity with no special shape. The
idol of the deity in metal is placed in front of it. The old Thidambu can be seen near it. It has the figure of the Goddess with conch and disc in two
hands and the other two denoting Abhaya and Vrada mudras. The temple

with a simple architectural style. It is believed that the original structure was
destroyed during the Mysore invasion. It has a structure around the sanctum, big Balikal, and Balikalpura. The Namaskara mandapam in front of
the sanctum has been reconstructed while retaining the old form. The granite
pillars of the Namaskara mandapam have the figures of Dwarapalikas on them.
They are shown with lamps in their hands welcoming the Goddess. Around the
structure of the present temple, the remains of an ancient temple can be seen.
The remains of a Gopuram can also be seen there.
