This temple is at Vembaloor in Thenkurissi Panchayath of Palakkad district. The place is known as Maruthykavu because of the temple. Legend says that many centuries ago the Goddess appeared in the attic of the famous Nair family of Vembaloor. The eldest male member of the family evoked the Goddess into a Kuthuvilakku and consecrated it in Maruthykavu. Five Nair families used to be responsible for the running of the temple. But all the local people took an interest in worshipping the Goddess. The Goddess here at Vembaloor is believed to be the sister of the Goddesses of Ethanoor, Koothanoor, Vilayanoor and Vilanyanchathoor. The Goddess is consecrated
