This temple situated at
Nadapuram in Kozhikodu, is one of the most important temples in the district.
It is one of the 108 Sive temples where Lord Parasurama is believed to have
consecrated the deity. It has features like
Nalambalam, Thidappally, Balikkalpura and the sanctum sanctorum with a mukha
mandapam that classifies it as a Maha Kshethram. Lord Siva in the fierce form is consecrated
here. Unlike in other Siva temples, the idol here does not have the third eye.
People believe the place came to be known as Iringanoor from the
description of the deity as having two eyes.
