Historical accounts indicate that the temple's roots date back to the 15th century CE. Initially, a
Brahmin family owned the temple, but upon their departure, it came under the
stewardship of distinguished Nair families. Records further reveal that until
1915 A.D., the temple's administration was overseen by four prominent Nair
families. Eventually, in 1925 CE, the responsibility of managing and preserving
the temple was assumed by the Nayarambalam Nair Karayogam, a group of devout
followers.
