People believe that our wishes will be fulfilled if we faithfully meditate upon the Perinjanam Mahaganapathy. Korappar: The Perinjanam Mahaganapathy temple was established by him, a devotee of Kodungalloor Bhagawathy. In the argument that followed with the Kumaranchira Bhagavathy, the Bhagawathy vowed that he would not be alive for Vishu. He challenged the Bhagavathy and when the Sacred Books were removed to arrange the 'Vishu Kani', Devi killed him with Her sword. This is the belief of the people. After that, the daily Pooja of the temple was resumed only after the idol of Korappar was set up outside that temple. In the eastern 'Althara' of the Kumaranchira temple even now the idol of Korappar is seen. Singing of songs after drawing the 'Kalam' is the main offering to 'Korappar. The song is sung by 'Velans. Liquor and meat are offered for the 'Kalasham'. It is very essential.
