The Sree Lakshmi Narasimha Moorthy Temple, nestled in the picturesque Valliad village of Kozhikode District's Vadakara Taluk, Kerala, boasts a rich history spanning approximately 400 years, its ancient walls whispering tales of devotion, resilience, and rebirth. Originally managed by the esteemed Thangal family, an aristocratic lineage renowned for their philanthropy and spiritual patronage, this venerable temple's fortunes waned as the family's partition and financial struggles led to the dilapidation of its structures, ceasing all pujas and plunging the community into spiritual darkness. However, in 1974, Sri Rayaroth Raman Nair, a devout farmer and visionary leader, intervened after a Swarnaprasnam, an ancient astrological ritual, revealed the powerful presence of
more Lord Narasimhamoorthy and the urgent need for renovation to ensure the well-being of the surrounding community. Undeterred by the magnitude of the task, Raman Nair single-handedly shouldered the renovation expenses, erecting a fully restored temple and resuming daily pujas, rekindling the sacred flame that had flickered for centuries. A two-story Kalyana Mandapam was also established, hosting Bhagavathasapthaham programs led by eminent Acharyas, reviving the temple's stature as a hub of spiritual and cultural excellence. Following Raman Nair's passing in 1992, his children – Retd. Justice R Bhaskaran, R Balakrishnan, and R Sulochana – assumed trusteeship, ensuring the temple's continued operation and upholding their father's legacy. In 2014, another Swarnaprasnam exposed vastu doshas in the temple's construction, prompting the trustees to undertake a comprehensive renovation, reflecting their unwavering commitment to preserving the temple's sanctity and spiritual efficacy. Today, the newly constructed temple, managed by dedicated private trustees, stands as a testament to the unwavering devotion of its patrons and the enduring legacy of Lord Narasimhamoorthy, its sacred energy and timeless beauty captivating all who enter. This revered pilgrimage site welcomes devotees seeking solace, spiritual growth, and connection with the divine, its ancient walls bearing witness to countless stories of transformation and redemption.
