This is one of the ancient temples of Kerala. This is situated at a distance of 7km from Kochi. Sree Venkatachalapathy, the Lord worshipped by the Goudasaraswatha community is the main deity consecrated here. There is a stone tablet in the temple announcing that the temple was opened in AD 1638. The temple is under the control of the Kammathi community. In the 1110 Malayalam Era, the idol used for festivals and processions was stolen. In 1111 a new idol was installed in its place. In 1116 ME the Kammathis handed over the temple to the local people. It was renovated and reconsecration was performed
more in 1960. In 2005 Navadurga Devi was consecrated as a subordinate deity. In 2010 the Gopuram and Agrashala were also constructed and dedicated.
