Another important sub-deity here is “Poothan Thevar.” In front of the temple lies a sacred Nagakavu, where the serpent deities Karinagam and Maninagam reside. The devotees of this temple believe that their children are divinely protected, and the temple is known to bring blessings of marital harmony, or "Mangalya Yogam," to those who worship here. more During the era of kings, the temple was managed by the Kaimals, a powerful ruling family, and later came under the administration of the Kodassery Karthas. Today, the temple is well-maintained by the temple protection committee, ensuring that the spiritual and cultural heritage of this sacred site continues to thrive.
