This temple is at Palarinjal village in Iritti of Kannur District. It is believed that the idol is self-originated and later consecrated by Lord Parasurama in the Thretha Yuga. It is on the border with Karnataka blessed with many ponds and paddy fields. It has a connection with the legendary Kottiyoor temple, otherwise known as Dakshina Kasi – the Kasi of the South. The Kottiyoor temple is connected with the Daksha Yaga where Parvathy Devi goes without the Lord’s permission. It is in that frame of mind that Mahadeva is consecrated here. The main sanctum faces the west. In front of the temple is the consecration
more of Goddess Parvathy, in a sanctum without a roof, facing the west. Ganapathy, Nagaraja, Shasthavu, and Brahmarakshass are consecrated as subordinate deities. There is a Bhadrakali temple 300 meters to the east of the temple. The temple has been renovated partially in recent times.
