This temple is at Veliyandu, near the house where Adi Shankaracharya was born. It is under the NSS Karayogam. Previously it was under the Kartha family who had their Kalari Raakshass and their traditional deity and Velichapad worshipped at this place. When they left, the temple came to Mullasseril Achuthan who was the last Velichapad and who started living in their house, This place was known as Kavin Chuvadu. There were no idols consecrated there. But the people used to light lamps and offer worship to Bhadrakali there.  Later it was taken over by the Veliyanadu NSS Karayogam. An astrological consultation was held in 1967 and sancta more were built for Bhagavathy, Shaasthaav and Velichapad. Velathyummal Bhagavathy was consecrated in 1968 in calm form after destroying Darika. In 1993 after another astrological consultation Serpents and Rakshass were consecrated. Daily pujas were started in 2012. Another astrological consultation was held in 2012 and renovation was carried out.
